Job Summary:

The Department of Continuing Medical Education at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Conference Manager / Senior Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will:

  • Manage CME live learning programs from development to implementation.
  • Collaborate with external subject matter experts and staff across all departments, including marketing, customer service, IT and meeting services, to maximize the impact of Downstate's CME's live educational programs for physician and non-physician learners, to optimize CME's success in meeting learner educational needs and financial objectives.
  • Manage the design and implementation of innovative live learning programs from conceptualization through development and practical delivery of learner-centric educational programs. 
  • Collaborate with the Director, Evaluation, Measurement, and Assessment to evaluate live learning programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Manage live learning program operations and evaluate and align processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Manage the live learning components of grant-funded educational offerings.
  • Oversee the development and execution of a live learning strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), other health professions Continuing Education (CE) guidelines, and certification requirements. 
  • Serve as on-site staff for live learning programs, as assigned.
  • Coordinate a regular schedule of planning meetings and communications with volunteers and staff groups.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for live learning faculty and committee communications.
  • Manage the education proposal and abstract poster process, including vendor contract negotiations/communications.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned and/or required for the position.   

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of administrative work experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree preferred. 

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-3

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
