Job Summary: |
The Department of Student Affairs at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Career Planning and Development. The Assistant Director of Career Planning and Development will oversee career counseling and residency advising initiatives for medical students. This position is responsible for providing support for early career exploration, specialty exploration, mentorship, advising resources, research and networking opportunities, guidance on residency applications, and relevant programming for students from their first to fourth years. The Assistant Director will support the development of the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) letter to enhance the chances of medical students successfully matching into residency programs. The role ensures that medical students have the resources and guidance needed to make informed decisions about their medical careers. Additional responsibilities will include:
