Job Summary:
|
The Department of Cardiology Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Cardiac Catheterization Lab Director, Clinical Assistant Professor (HS).
Functional Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight:
- Manage daily operations of the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Ensure procedures are performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with best practices.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and procedural outcomes.
- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise Cath Lab personnel including nurses and technologists.
- Foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Manage staff schedules and ensure ongoing competency and education.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and accreditation standards.
- Lead qua/fly improvement Initiatives and monitor patient outcomes.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for regulatory compliance.
- Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the Cath Lab's operational budget.
- Oversea procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure efficient use of financial and material resources.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and administrative teams.
- Coordinate patient care and resolve operational issues.
- Promote Interdisciplinary communication to enhance service delivery.
- Leadership and Team Building:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to Cath Lab staff.
- Promote a positive work culture and professional development.
- Lead by example in clinical excellence and ethical standards.
- Clinical Duties:
- Perform cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Participate in inpatient consult rotations.
- Participate In the cardiac catheterization call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
