The Department of Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Pathologist to serve as Director of the Clinical Laboratories and Chief of Clinical Pathology / Clinical Associate Professor (TCL). The successful candidate will:
- Be accountable for the oversight of Clinical Pathology Services, Directorship of the Chemistry Laboratory and point-of-care testing service, leadership of pathology quality improvement initiatives, and participation in clinical pathology services and call, including transfusion medicine.
- Work closely with Administrative Director and Chiefs of Microbiology, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Transplant Immunology, and Anatomic Pathology to ensure that laboratories meet the regulatory requirements of CAP, DOH and CLIA.
- Demonstrate strong leadership experience and contribute meaningfully to the mission of providing an outstanding education to Downstate medical students, residents and other trainees, advancing knowledge through research, and caring for the Brooklyn community.
- Individuals with experience in implementing new diagnostic technology and advising on laboratory integration projects are encouraged to apply.
