Job Summary:

The Department of Urology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor (HS) / On-Call Attending.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Clinical Skills in the College of Medicine, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide direct support of the Downstate HSU medical school curriculum.
  • Be assigned to work as a Small Group Facilitator in Clinical Skills, including participating in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), which averages to approximately half a day/week.
  • Teach students to practice foundational clinical skills such as history gathering, documentation and oral presentation skills, clinical reasoning skills, and interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Serve in the Department of Urology's UHD on-call pool, consistent with the Department and Hospital needs, for 14 full weeks per year.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO Degree from an accredited medical school.
  • New York State Medical Licensure.
  • Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Urology.
  • Ability to demonstrate a sincere interest in patient care and resident education.
