Job Summary:

The Department of Facilities Management and Development at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Associate Facilities Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will:

  • Supervise Maintenance Operation Center to ensure accurate data input and utilization of CMMS system.
  • Assist in the development of project cost data base for future budget estimates.
  • Assist in project planning, project budgeting, and identification of project resources utilizing CMMS software.
  • Provide project management and construction management to trades personnel and contract labor personnel performing work on new construction and renovation projects.
  • Track time and materials to insure projects are accomplished within funding constraints and allowable performance periods via CMMS.
  • Maintain project records, files and reports as needed. Record change orders that develop throughout the course of the project via CMMS.
  • Assist in development and implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) activities.
  • Assist in the development of project cost data base for future budget estimates
  • Review, edit and maintain an up-to-date compilation of all departmental SOP's.
  • Assist in the maintenance and preparation of on-going departmental reports submitted to the Hospital Governing Body.
  • Work with the Director of Environmental Safety and all appropriate departments to resolve accreditation compliance issues.
  • Participate in all required committees.
  • Perform facility safety inspections and institute follow up on corrective actions.
  • Initiate projects to bring workplace into compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Provide in-service education for FM&D personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
    • or Code Enforcement Certification with equivalent project management experience/knowledge.
  • 5-years of experience in facilities management in a hospital environment.
  • Full knowledge of local facility codes and regulations, including OSHA guidelines for chemical and staff safety.
  • Full knowledge of all standards of the JCAHO Environment of Care compliance standards specific to utilities management. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline. 

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; 7:30am to 4:00pm (Full-Time)

SL-4

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
