Job Summary:

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Occupational Therapist I. The successful candidate will:
- Evaluate and treat patients referred for skilled occupational therapy in acute care and IRF setting, according to department's standard of care.
- Establish treatment goals and create POC to attain established goals.
- Provide appropriate patient/family education as needed.
- Participate as needed in IDT rounds and huddles. Consult with IDT regarding patient care.
- Evaluate/submit requests for DME, and adaptive assistive devices, orthotics and prosthetic needs.
- Complete/submit all required patient documentation & billing in EHR, along with all other related patient care and chart paperwork.
- Provide supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistant, rehabilitation aides, and volunteers.
- Adhere to all compliance regulations, licensure requirements, and federal and state regulations.
- Model the WE CARE values of the institution.
- Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above position description.
