Job Summary:

The Department of Physiology/Pharmacology and Neurology in the College of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (12MO). The successful candidate will:
- Be provided with peer mentors and opportunities for leadership role.
- Be expected to build a collaborative, interdisciplinary research team supported by robust extramural funding that will lead to consequential contributions to scholarship and advancements in biomedicine.
- Be encouraged to interact with current Downstate neuroscience researchers in Physiology & Pharmacology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Psychiatry, and other departments, helping to make the institution more competitive for large collaborative institutional grants.
- Be expected to contribute to teaching and training of medical students in the College of Medicine and MD/PhD graduate students in the School of Graduate Studies’ Neural & Behavioral Science program.
