Job Summary:

The Department of Ambulatory Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time EKG Associate, OPD/Satellite Clinic. The Successful candidate will:
- Respect and promote patient's rights.
- Conduct cardiac monitoring on adult population.
- Perform phlebotomy tasks as directed.
- Perform direct nursing care activity as delegated.
- Perform finger stick glucose determinations as directed.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs.
- Enter data into electronic medical record as requested.
- Perform indirect nursing activities as determined by routine assignment as well as clinic activity.
- Practice effective infection control measures.
- Respond to the changing needs of patient care areas.
- Obtain, record, and exchange information on behalf of the patient.
- Plan appropriately to meet clinic objectives and take initiatives where necessary.
- Take an active role in managing resources.
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Participate in personal/professional development.
- Use ethical principles to guide decisions and actions consistent with University Hospital of Brooklyn's operating goals and objectives.
