Job Summary:

The Department of Environmental Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Staff Assistant 2 / Manager (Evenings). The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the overall work of the EVS Department on Tour I (3:00pm to 11:30pm)
  • Check daily assignments of the EVS staff on Tour I to ensure adequate coverage for a clean and safe environment
  • Coordinate and schedule projects to maintain and ensure the institutions appearance is up to standards
  • Coordinate the development and submission of production reports and monitor cleaning schedules
  • Ensure all CSEA staff’s request for leave are returned to employee as agreed by the State and CSEA agreement
  • Ensure time log is checked and all information is completed the end of each assigned shift
  • Evaluate and submit probationary report evaluations for new employees on time
  • Ensure Regulated Medical Waste is placed in proper container for transport, and RBX is properly secure and checked for any violations
  • Monitor bed discharge and ensure rooms are properly cleaned
  • Report all deficiencies in relation to the environment of care and/or safety conditions
  • Monitor staff’s time and attendance
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements/controls

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of full-time related experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to above position description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; 3:00pm to 11:30pm (Evenings)

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-1

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
