Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Virology and Molecular Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Science University is seeking a full-time Assistant Supervisor / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 1. The successful candidate will:
- Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or protocols conducted by the Virology and Microbiology Laboratories.
- Function as Assistant Supervisor, responsible for the operation of a laboratory.
- Demonstrate responsibility for the day to day laboratory operations, review of quality control, and performance improvement activities.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Virology and Microbiology instruments.
- Maintain compliance with departmental, hospital and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate flexibility and perform other related job duties as business need requires, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above job description.
