Job Summary:

The School of Health Professions at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Senior Staff Associate / Assistant Dean.
This role will assist the Dean of School of Health Professions (SOHP) in operation of school-wide programs and related student events, including commencement, convocation, and orientation for all new students. Ethics Day, interpersonal case study day, career alumni networking event and other events that may arise during the year.
Additionally, Specific duties will include:

Manage the School's Alumni database and assist with alumni affairs.

Participate in the coordination of special academic events, for example, accreditation site visits.

Coordinate special events involving alumni and other external groups.

Participate in the development of academic-related activities such as assembling of course evaluations each semester; involvement in the implementation of new BANNER system on campus and other related matters.

Facilitate incoming student's preparation for entry to academic programs.

Develop and coordinate alumni activities.

Provide support and advisement to SOHP Council, and generally be an ambassador for student concerns.

The incumbent will help to coordinate the SOHP Social Media Team.

Manage the P-card purchases for the Dean's Office. This includes ensuring proper usage, verifying transactions, reconciling statements, and identifying any discrepancies or potential misuse.

Assist in preparing the Gross Anatomy schedule and recruiting eligible COM students to work as TAs for the SOHP Summer Gross Anatomy course.
