Job Summary:

The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor (12MO). The successful candidate will:

• Clinically teach and supervise students in areas of specialization.
• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through expert teaching.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
• Use innovative, active learning strategies in the classroom and beyond.
• Plan clinical and simulation experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of students.
• Advise students.
• Evaluate and provide documented feedback on student’s performance.
• Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
• Orient and maintain current knowledge related to Women's Health.
• Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
• Engage in scholarship.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree in Nursing.
• Current New York State APRN License (WHNP).
• National Certification.
• Minimum of 2+ years teaching experience.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership.
• Evidence of current scholarship.
• Current Women's Health NP Practice.
