Job Summary:

The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time/hourly Adjunct Instructor. The successful candidate will:
- Teach and/or supervise students in clinical specialty areas (Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Mental/Behavioral Health, and Community Health Nursing).
- Orient students to the patient care unit, hospital/agency policies, procedures, and appropriate patient record and documentation systems.
- Conduct clinical pre and post conferences with students to the specific roles and responsibilities; assign students to patients, review clinical objectives and criteria with students and assign students to interpersonal case presentations.
- Provide and guide students as it relates to the College of Nursing clinical policies; evaluate students clinical performance and submit these to the Clinical Coordinator.
- Communicate with the Clinical Coordinator, Program Director(s), Director of Clinical Services and Associate Dean.
