Job Summary:

The Department of Anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (TCL). The successful candidate will:
- Administer anesthesia through anesthetic techniques (general, regional, sedation) to patients in general operating room ambulatory setting and obstetrical suite.
- Participate in clinical operating room supervision as well as classroom teaching and evaluations for residents and medical students.
- Mentor students/residents in research and scholarly activities.
- Participate in administrative duties and on-call assignments as required or needed.
- Provide clinical service:
- Cardiothoracic, angioplasty, TEE, general operating room, obstetrics and ambulatory coverage.
- Back-up coverage to general operating room team for ASA 3-4 patients with multiple end-stage comorbidities.
- On-call - committed calls are in 4-week cycles; 2 calls per cycle plus cardiothoracic beeper home call.
