Job Summary:

The Department of Student Health Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will:

  • Support the student population visiting the Student Health Center.
  • Provide excellent customer service and greet each student in a respectful, cordial manner. 
  • Enter all student visitors into the Eagle platform, visiting the Student Health Center.
  • Conduct data entry of all incoming as well as existing students into the departmental student/EHS database.
  • Update all health records for student health clearance.
  • Scan all student health records into the Medicat platform.
  • Schedule appointments, upload documents and authenticate documents utilizing the Medicat platform.
  • Follow all HIPAA rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Director of Student Health Center, as needed and/or required. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1+ year of hospital/school based work experience. 

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm (Full-Time)

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-2

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
