Job Summary:

The Department of Ambulatory Care Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner, Fusion-Biopsy-Urology. The successful candidate will:
- Provide same day procedures in fusion, biopsy and urology.
- Document all care provided in the patients medical records.
- Develop further, maintain/manage patient care panel with participation in managed care programs and other direct patient care programs as applicable.
- On a daily bases, review all laboratory and radiology reports to identify abnormal results for urgent follow up; ensure that patients are contacted to arrange additional care and that their primary providers are notified.
- Participate in and provide departmental educational activities to medial students and allied health professional students.
- Participate in hospital and departmental health fairs, community education events and speak to community groups, when requested.
- Attend staff meetings and, as required, write nurse practitioner protocols, in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- Stay abreast of developments in urology health care.
