Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS) / Rheumatologist. The successful candidate will:

• Management of patients with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders in outpatient setting as a service-based assignment.
• Liaison with the Orthopedic and Rehabilitation services for inpatients with medical rheumatic disorders.
• Participate in all clinical, educational, and research activities as directed by the chief of the division.
• Supervise and teach the medical students, residents and fellows.
• Lecture residents, medical students and precept medical students during their clerkships in the Department and actively participate in teaching rounds.
• Ample opportunities for research, publications and other scholarly activities are available. Participation in these activities is a must.
• Will also participate in the faculty private practice (University Physicians of Brooklyn - UPB).
• Ability to supplement salary with extramural funds.

Required Qualifications:

• Medical Doctor Degree from an accredited medical school.
• New York State Medical Doctor Licensure.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology.
