Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS)/ Associate Clinical Director of Psychiatry at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center.

Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is a part of New York State's Office of Mental Health (OMH). Kingsboro is located in the heart of Brooklyn and is an affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University. Kingsboro provides a broad clinical expertise to individuals in all stages of psychiatric recovery.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be Kingsboro's Director of Inpatient Services involving oversight for the implementation of OMH medical policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and participate of medical student/resident educational programs and activities with SUNY Downstate in collaboration with the appropriate SUNY educational staff.
  • Work with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The hospital offers a very competitive salary and benefit package through SUNY Downstate as well as an academic teaching appointment.
  • Report directly to the Clinical Director at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.
  • DEA active.
  • Graduate of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Additional board certifications are accepted.
  • 5+ years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training a plus.
