Job Summary:

The Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Associate Professor (HS). The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and perform research in cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmogenesis across cellular, species, populations, and spatial scales. 
  • Design and oversee computational modeling of cardiac cells and tissue and electrophysiological experiments on induced pluripotent stem cell derived cardiac myocytes.
  • Develop and submit extramural grant applications for cardiac electrophysiology research.
  • Oversee and mentor graduate students on cardiac electrophysiology research. 

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physiology, Biophysics or related field.
  • 10+ years of post-PhD experience in cardiac electrophysiology research specializing in computational modeling.
