Job Summary:

The Department of Dermatology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS). The successful candidate will:

  • Serve as an early career advisor for first year medical students. Organize group and individual advising sessions for students learning about dermatology and other specialties.
  • Act as Associate Clerkship/Elective Director for students rotating through the Department of Dermatology, for students to obtain shadowing experiences which lead to research projects and case reports. 
  • Assist the Department of Dermatology with obtaining grant funding for fellowships and summer research programs for medical students, with a goal of increasing diversity among dermatology residency applicants and dermatologists.
  • Serve as the Associate Program Director, Dermatology Residency Training Program.
  • Supervise Residents in dermatologic procedures including lasers.
  • Participate on the Dermatology Program Evaluation Committee.
  • Participate in the Dermatology Selection Committee.
  • Attend weekly Dermatology Grand Rounds. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor Degree.
  • New York State Medical Licensure.
  • Board Certified in Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, Pediatric Endocrinology. 
  • Experience as an Associate Program Director. 
  • Experience in dermatological cosmetic procedures including injections of Botox to head, neck and treatment of hyperhidrosis.
  • Experience with lasers.
