Job Summary:

The Department of Health Policy and Management in the School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (12 Month). The successful candidate will:
- Bring a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, including an interest in non-traditional teaching such as online, certificate, or executive training.
- Provide instruction and advisement to students in the Masters of Public Health (Healthcare Administration concentration) and Masters of Healthcare Administration programs.
- Demonstrate a trajectory towards securing extramural funding to support pedagogical innovation and/or research and provide evidence of a commitment to diversity in their scholarship and teaching.
- Demonstrate the ability to further the mission of the School of Public Health:
- To advance public health knowledge
- To promote health and well-being
- To prevent disease and disability within communities underserved by our healthcare systems, particularly urban and immigrant communities
- Create and teach graduate courses in healthcare administration both in-person and online.
- Provide leadership in development and implementation of future programs, including an Executive MHA Program.
- Build and maintain extramural funding to support pedagogical innovation and/or research.
- Mentor students to become healthcare leaders, scholars, and practitioners.
- Engage actively with the communities we serve.

Required Qualifications:
|
- A demonstrated track record of excellence in leadership, scholarship, and teaching, providing evidence of a commitment to diversity.
- Doctoral Degree (e.g., PhD, MD, JD).
- Familiarity with the CAHME and the accreditation process.
