Job Summary:

The Department of Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Surgical Pathologist / Clinical Assistant Professor (HS).

In addition to directing the autopsy service, responsibilities include: 

  • Surgical pathology sign-out, frozen section, mentoring and teaching of medical students and pathology residents and participation in other areas of the laboratories.
  • The position includes leadership of the pathology
    education for second year medical students.
  • Participation in research with presentation of work at national meetings and publication in peer reviewed journals is expected.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO Degree.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Eligibility for New York State Medical Licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fellowship training in oncologic surgical pathology, forensic pathology, transplant, renal or gastrointestinal pathology.
