Job Summary:

The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Professor or Associate Professor (12MO) Tenure-Track. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a primary appointment in the Department of Community Health Sciences or Epidemiology and Biostatistics. 
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a collegial community of scholars and educators aligned with our school's values and commitment to health equity and social justice.
  • Contribute to supporting the growth of both the School of Public Health and the Translational Program of Health disparities Research Training (TRANSPORT), a research endowment grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 
  • Support the professional growth of students, postdoctoral trainees, and early-stage faculty, including leadership in the planning and implementation of programs to support the success of TRANSPORT trainees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Terminal Degree in Public Health or related field.
  • Clearly defined record of excellence in research and scholarship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commitment to health equity research, evidenced by scholarship, and funding history.
  • Track record of successful mentorship of early-stage investigators.
