Job Summary:

The Department of Cardiology Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner/TH Assistant Director of Nursing. The successful candidate will:
- Assist the Division Chief/Faculty with clinical and clinical administrative responsibilities.
- Triage patients presenting for E&M visits and non-invasive procedures, documenting patient charts.
- Develop and update policies and procedures for Cardiology Inpatient Services, and Preventive Cardiology.
- Coordinate patient follow-up care collaboratively with physicians.
- Respond to phone inquiries, review lab results, liaise with outside pharmacies.
- Monitor the indicators in the Cardiology Inpatient Services and Preventive Cardiology Service, for the Quality Improvement Program.
- Present trends and opportunities for improvement at the quarterly PI meeting.
- Provide continuous in-service to staff of all new hospital-wide and division-specific policies and procedures/guidelines.
- Collect data for monthly statistical reporting.
- Provide divisional/unit orientation to all new clinical staff.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties within the scope of the work assigned.
