Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist III, Chemistry & Immunology. The successful candidate will:

  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any additional tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories. 
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry; specific familiarization with blood gases, Olympus, and Architect instruments preferred.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instrumentation. 
  • Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above job description. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Science.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure or eligible to apply for license. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification preferred.
