Job Summary:
|
The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (12MO), Health Policy & Management (Tenure Track). The successful candidate will:
- Possess specialization in healthcare administration, management, information technology, quality improvement, and/or financing.
- Bring a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, including an interest in non-traditional teaching such as online, certificate, or executive training.
- Demonstrate a trajectory towards securing extramural funding to support pedagogical innovation and/or research and provide evidence of a commitment to diversity in their scholarship and teaching.
- Demonstrate the ability to further the mission of the School of Public Health:
- To advance public health knowledge.
- To promote health and well-being.
- To prevent disease and disability within communities underserved by our healthcare systems, particularly urban and immigrant communities.
- Additionally, the candidate is expected to:
- Create and teach graduate courses in healthcare administration both in-person and online.
- Provide leadership in development and implementation of future programs, including an Executive MHA Program.
- Build and sustain extramural funding to support pedagogical innovation and/or research.
- Mentor students to become healthcare leaders, scholars, and practitioners.
- Engage activity with the communities we serve.

Required Qualifications:
|
- Doctoral Degree (PhD, MD, JD, etc.).
- Demonstrated track record of excellence in leadership, scholarship, teaching, and evidence of a commitment to diversity.
- Familiarity with the CAHME and accreditation process.
