Job Summary:

The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time TH Staff Assistant 2, Nursing Administration. The successful candidate will:
- Provide specific clerical activities to support departmental needs: data entry, typing, photocopying, answering, and troubleshooting phone calls/inquiries.
- Order office/supplies for the Department of Nursing on behalf of Nursing Managers/Directors.
- Reconcile NYS-issued P-Card transactions timely on a monthly basis and assign them to proper budgetary account code(s).
- Be responsible for providing backup documentation (proof) and obtaining prior approval for orders by the respective manager/director.
- Be responsible for returning wrongful items back to vendors and coordinating pick-up as needed.
- Be responsible for disputing wrongful credit charges on the NYS-issued P-card.
- Attend training for P-Card and other finance training relating to purchasing and NYS-issued P-card.
- Provide follow-up, feedback, and tracking pending items.
- Communicate with the manager/director when the items has reached the facility.
- Provide telephone coverage as needed for Staffing Office/Nursing Administration.
- Support staffing office with OT data entry as needed.
- Be responsible for calculating OT logs in a timely manner in compliance with set Payroll guidelines.
- Respond appropriately to changing unit/service environment.
- Foster and maintain positive patient-family and staff relations.
- Demonstrate accountability in personal and professional development.
- Represent UHB in a positive manner by demonstrating respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers by adhering to the Organizations values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
