Job Summary:

The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Clinical Professor (12 MO). The successful candidate will:

  • Support the accreditation process and assist the dean with strategic planning for the college, and other activities to support the mission of the college. 
  • Teach in the graduate program.
  • Use innovative, active teaching and learning strategies. 
  • Advise students in area of doctoral work; mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship. 
  • Evaluate and provide document feedback on student performance.
  • Report to the Dean.
  • Engage in Scholarly activities. 
  • Work in collaboration with other faculty to support the mission of the College of Nursing. 
  • Collaborate with the Dean for faculty development.  

Required Qualifications:

Criteria with documentation/evidence:

  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing is required.
  • New York State Registered Nurse License.
  • 10+ years of progressive teaching experience.
  • 5+ years progressive academic leadership experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • CCNE Accreditation experience. 
  • Evidence of current scholarship. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Evidence of independent and collaborative research and extramural funding.
  • Evidence of national prominence on nursing. 
  • Experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Experience in strategic planning process.
