Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories/Pathology, Chemistry and Immunology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time Clinical Laboratory Technologist 3. The successful candidate will:

  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
  • Have working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry. Specific familiarization with Blood Gases, Olympus and Architect instruments preferred.
  • Have good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instrumentation required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological science.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligible to apply for license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification.

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; Variable Hours

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-2

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
