The Occupational Therapy (OT) Program at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Sciences University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor.
SUNY Downstate is one of the nation's leading urban medical centers located in Brooklyn, New York and is a strong academic environment that endorses interprofessional collaboration within the University and beyond.
The successful candidate must demonstrate high skills in teaching, research, clinical experience, and service to the profession. The individual must be committed to the concepts of interdisciplinary teamwork and increasing he diversity of the program's faculty and student body.
This position reports directly to the OT Program Chair.

Qualifications |
Eligible for or holds occupational therapy licensure in the State of New York
• Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DPS, OTD, SeD.)
• National Certification
• Experience teaching In higher education
• Several years of clinical experience in occupational therapy practice
• Clinical expertise in any areas of occupational therapy practice will be considered
• Ability to mentor students through directed clinical/community research or program development projects consistent with a line of scholarly work
• Experience using contemporary instructional technologies, a.g., distance learning modalities
• Experience using learning management systems to support teaching
• Involvement in local, state or national professional organization(s)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
