Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a per diem Clinical Lab Tech 2, Blood Bank. The successful candidate will:

  • Perform all aspects of Blood Bank testing, including but not limited to: ABO/Rh Typing, Crossmatching, Antibody Detection and Identification with appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain quality control of equipment and reagents.
  • Manage meticulous record-keeping and utilize follow-skills.
  • Be flexible, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science required.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification and Blood Bank prior work experience preferred.

Work Schedule:

Days Variable; Hours Variable

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-3

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
