Job Summary:

The Department of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Residency Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Residency Coordinator and Residency Directors in all aspects of the Emergency Medicine Residency Programs and Fellowships. In addition, the successful candidate will: 

  • Distribute the yearly and monthly assignment schedules of the residents.
  • Be accountable for distribution, collection, and tabulation of all evaluation forms and verifications regarding residents, rotations, and faculty and compiles and generates feedback for appropriate follow-up and reporting.
  • Maintain confidential resident paper files and database.
  • Process appointments, reappointments, and terminations.
  • Prepare reporting to internal and external agencies/organizations and accrediting bodies.
  • Perform data entry, photocopying, filing and conducting errands.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for new residents.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills and competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels. 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong follow-up and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • ACGME/GME knowledge preferred.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; Variable Hours
