Job Summary:

The Department of Pathology/Hematology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist 3. The successful candidate will:

  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
  • Have a working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry. Specific familiarization with variant equipment.
  • Have good knowledge of quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instrumentation.
  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent college credits in Medical Technology or Biological sciences.
  • New York State Laboratory Technologist License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification.
  • 2+ years of working experience in Hematology/Chemistry.
