Job Summary:

The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Director of Curricular Innovation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting development and implementation of new curricular innovations, including:  

  • Development and securing of approvals of new programs, certificates, and other educational offerings in the SPH.
  • Development of academic planning, overall curricular development, and adherence to implementation timelines.
  • Ensuring that all programs, courses, and educational offerings are aligned with the SPH mission and goals, with SUNY and DOE requirements, with CEPH accreditation criteria.
  • Identifying key process and outcome evaluation metrics related to education in the SPH strategic plan; CEPH accreditation requirements,
  • ASPPH tracking requests, and accreditation metrics for other Downstate programs requiring SPH information;
  • Implementation of systems for collecting, tracking, and reporting as relates to educational processes and outcomes and maintain an active database on these metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in higher education administration, public administration in higher education, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices with regard to curriculum development in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent proofreading, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of modes of instruction and best practices associated with these modalities (hybrid, on-line, etc.)
  • Experience working with spreadsheets and database management. 

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; Hours Variable

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-4

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
